Cloud Technologies Supporting Hybrid Work

Moving towards a digitalised workplace, infrastructure and operations (I&O) leaders have been increasingly investing in cloud-powered technologies to allow for more flexible and adaptive business operations. According to Gartner Senior Research Director, Stuart Downes,a cloud-powered workplace shifts a focus on creating positive employee experiences while also “optimising costs, improving processes and increasing technology performance”.

Gartner outlined three cloud-powered digital workplace technologies which they forecast that organisation will increasingly rely on to support the future of work.

1. Digital Employee Experience (DEX) Tools

DEX tools place a focus on discovering user experience – how employees interact with the digital workplace and their digital tools. It can also assist workers to adapt to new and innovative working practices and technologies.

2. Unified endpoint management (UEM)

UEM secures, controls, manages, and connects a broad range of devices from a single console. It can manage the devices’ policies, application distribution, patching, and updates from a cloud solution, promoting an ‘anywhere workforce’, improving the employee experience, and reducing IT overhead.

3. Desktop as a Service (DaaS)

DaaS is a cloud computing and managed desktop virtualisation solution which securely delivers virtual apps and desktops from the cloud to any device. It also allows users to increase security by eliminating the need to store applications or data on endpoints.

  • All aspects of the service will be handled via a managed service including help desk, Microsoft provisioning, Desktop and Azure management, and relevant licensing
